Genomics of Phaseoloid Legumes (Fabaceae, Leguminosae) 要旨:My
research program centers on tribe Phaseoleae in the Legume family
(Fabaceae: Leguminosae). I am investigating the evolutionary genetics
and genomics of relationships above and below the species level. Below
the species level, I am studying the population genetics and genomics
of Pueraria montana var. lobata, commonly known as Kudzu
or Kuzu.
Kudzu is an invasive species in the United States and native to China
and southeast Asia. We are using microsatelllites, phylogenomics, and
next-generation sequencing to determine the phylogeny of the genus Pueraria (about
25 species) and place the invasive species in the context of the genus
and other phaseoloid legumes. I am also studying the molecular
systematics of the tribe Phaseoleae, especially to determine the
placement of the paraphyletic Pueraria genus and help to determine the progenitor genomes of the polyploid genus Glycine, to which soybean (Glycine max)
belongs. I have also been using next generation sequencing to
investigate the history of polyploidy (whole genome duplication) within
phaseoloid legumes. |
